Shoe Drive leaps out the starting blocks
The Wanderers Sports Medical Centre Shoe Drive has officially leapt out of the starting blocks, through a recent handover with The Gauteng Striders running Club by the WSMC and one of our ambassadors and South African Sprint Queen, Alyssa Conley.
Shoes donated by friends, family and patients of the WSMC were handed over and the athletes received them with tears of joy. We see this as an investment in the future of these athletes and we will be closely monitoring and providing support for the Gauteng Striders Running Club. We will also be rewarding hard work and achievements by providing new shoes in the future. The donation of the shoes is merely a start in what promises to be a prosperous relationship with these young stars.
Paying it forward is a major part of our value system. Giving back to our community and helping bridge the gap between amateur athletes and elite athletes is one of our main focuses. The joy and passion that these young athletes show is reward enough, knowing that we have helped make a difference.
